If you're racking your brains thinking of the perfect present for your loved ones, here's a tip. Instead of jewellery or the latest gadget, choose something intangible like a vacation or memorable dinner. A poll of 2,500 men and woman between 20 and 60 years old in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Taiwan revealed that this year people are desiring "quality experiences," according to online e-commerce site Rakuten's Shopping Secrets survey. That means a holiday (16%), quality time (12%) or a kiss, hug or something more (9%). When asked who they'd choose if they could buy a Christmas present for only person, Singaporean male respondents chose their spouse or partner (48%) over themslves (24%) and their mother (12%). Female respondents ranked their spouse or partner on top (36%), followed by themselves (25%) and children (15%). But the most shocking findings of the survey is that seven out of 10 Singaporeans remember what they received for Christmas last year — with a majority confessing that they didn't like what they got. Of those unwanted gifts, majority were recyled and re-gifted to someone else (44%), some were re-sold (21%) or given to charity (25%) or stashed in the closet and forgotten forever (39%).   Photo: Christmasgiftideas.me
