IMH singaporeA former nurse is now facing the music for the deplorable way he treated a patient he was tasked to care for at the Institute of Mental Health.  Earlier in February, 25-year-old Myanmar national Aung Phyo Thu assaulted the patient multiple times, leaving him with two fractured ribs. Aung punched, kicked and elbowed the mentally ill man on his back, head, legs and body.  He has since been charged in court for voluntarily causing grievous hurt to the patient, and was ordered not to approach the victim at all costs. He is currently out on a $20,000 bail, and his passport was impounded as well, Channel NewsAsia reports. If convicted, Aung could face up to 10 years in prison, as well as a fine or caning.  Photo: Wikimedia Commons
