Hit-and-run motorists are the vilest, and it's good to know that two recent offenders have been arrested.
According to Singapore Police Force, a 29-year-old and a 30-year-old man have been arrested for suspected involvement in two separate accidents. The former was involved in an accident along Jurong Town Hall Road on July 31 while the latter is believed to be connected to one that occurred on Tuesday along Simei Avenue.
In the Jurong Town Hall Road case, a white multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) had collided with a motorcyclist as well as the rear of another car, which in turn hit the rear of a van. The driver of the MPV then fled the scene, leaving the flung motorcyclist with injuries. It was established that the MPV had been affixed with a false number plate. The driver has since been arrested for both traffic and drug offences on Tuesday around Hougang Street 21.
The second case which transpired earlier this week saw the driver of a silver saloon car losing control of his vehicle and hit six other cars and two taxis along Simei Avenue. He fled on foot, leaving behind a scene of chaos in his wake, as well as a passenger sustaining injuries.
His identity was quickly established and he was arrested in the vicinity of National University Hospital.
