Singapore Airlines uniform by Pierre BalmainIf you love nostalgia — and who doesn't — then you ought to pay a free visit to the Asian Civilisation Museum this weekend and check out objects unearthed from a time capsule buried 25 years ago. Exactly 111 items were buried, all falling into any one of these six categories: education, defense, economy, society, infrastructure and politics. But only 50 are on display in "Unearthed: Singapore at 25", for obvious reasons. Among those are the first National Service Call-Up Notice; the first currency series; a photograph of Singapore’s most famous orang utan, Ah Meng; a set of Singapore Telecom scenery phonecards; the Sing Singapore ’90 songbook with CDs and cassettes; and a Yeo Hiap Seng soya bean drink can, reports Today. "Unearthed: Singapore At 25" runs until Sep 27 at the Asian Civilisations Museum. Free admission to Singapore residents from Aug 7-10.
