All eyes are on Singapore's poster boy for swimming as he competes at the men's 50m butterfly final of FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia, tonight at 11:15pm.
He's already breezed through the men's heats and the semi-finals, breaking his own national record in both instances and clocking the fastest time in Asian history, reports Channel NewsAsia."In the men’s 50m butterfly heats, he finished 5th and clocked a time of 23.40 seconds, setting a new Asian record and national best," says the report. "He also beat his own previous best time of 23.49s set at the SEA Games in June." At the semi-finals, he clocked 23.27 seconds to finish 7th overall.
Tonight he competes with swimmers from Ukraine, Hungary, France, Brazil, Poland and Great Britain.
