The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) announced Dec. 3 that it has seized a total of 60 'exotic 'animals and caught 17 private individuals involved in acquiring these animals illegally since October of this year.
Among the animals seized were two sugar gliders, two hedgehogs and six oriental white eyes between the period of June to September.
Offenders were charged on Nov. 26 and the fines were a total of SGD4,000 and SGD6,000 — SGD1,000 per animal.
