As a testament to our generation's wired eccentricities and how exceedingly dependent we are on our electronic devices, there will soon be about 200 dedicated hubs across the island for you to charge your mobile devices for free.
TODAY reports that the charging stations will soon be rolled out at various hospitals, libraries, schools and even FairPrice supermarkets as part of a joint SG50 initiative led by Singapore Power in collaboration with SingHeatlh, National Library Board, NTUC FairPrice and various tertiary institutions.
No longer will you have to hunt for spare charging outlets — you can now continue to rest in the assured glow of your mobile devices when the initiative launches progressively, starting from mid-August, when the first 20 stations get installed. Consequently, 40 additional stations will be introduced every month with all 200 expected to be up and ready by the end of the year.
