Remember our report about the Singaporean businessman who died on the spot as he accidentally crashed his Porsche in Johor last Sunday? This was not the first time the late See Lam Huat, 55, had been featured in the news. TODAY unearthed a Straits Times report about See, who last month figured in a court case involving him and his younger brother, who had accused him of copyright infringement and defamation. The two were previously partners in a company, S H Econ Electrical Trading, but fell out with each other in 2005. They then established separate companies, both selling China electrical goods to buyers from Cameroon. “More than a client, Johnny was also a friend. I watched him build a thriving, multi-million-dollar international enterprise from nothing," Adrian Tan, lawyer of the deceased, told TODAY."Though he spoke only Mandarin and Hokkien, he sold his products to many African countries. Johnny was a classic Singaporean entrepreneur: Smart, brave and tough. Many people around the world, including me, are grieved,” he continued. Photo: Axion23 via Flickr
