Talk about teenage angst. Carmen Chng Jiawen — then 16 years of age — must have been listening to too much N.W.A. when she scratched, kicked and verbally abused police officers who came to her house to arrest her brother back in 2013.
Now 18, she appeared in court to plead guilty to hurting a policewoman and causing mischief, while two other charges were taken into consideration, The Straits Times reports.
The girl's brother — Pierre Chng Yuheng — was being arrested over charged of criminal intimidation when it was found that he threatened his landlady in May 2013.
Then the police visited their house in Paya Lebar to arrest him, the sister refused to open the door to let them in and shouted vulgarities at them as well. She went all out berserk later on when she scratched a policewoman and kicked her in the knees and stomach. When she was handcuffed and taken to the police car, she swung her legs against a back door and kicked a rear window. Teenagers just do the darndest things.
In court, her defense counsel asked for probation instead of a prison sentence due to her age. The case has since been adjourned to Aug 13.
