In more news of horrible people being horrible, a husband-wife duo are facing the music for doling out abuse on their Indonesian maid.
31-year-old Muhamad Al-Hafiz Nordin has since been sentenced to four weeks in prison today after admitting to two of three charges of maid abuse at his flat in Edgefield Plains in Punggol three years ago, The Straits Times reports.
His wife — 31-year-old Nuraini Hassan — is also facing charges for abusing the domestic helper, but her case is currently at the pre-trial conference stage.
Yulianti, 24, was employed by Nuraini in 2012 to perform household chores and was also tasked with the job of taking care of their then two-year-old daughter. Yulianti had to endure physical abuse from Al-Hafiz, who slapped and hit her. She was also not given the house keys when she was home alone taking care of the couple's daughter.
