A flasher got his two-week jail term increased to three months yesterday after prosecutors successfully appealed against his prior sentence.
64-year-old Chan Khin Fatt shed tears in court, disappointed that he failed to convince the judge that he exposed himself to his victim just because he really needed to take a piss. TODAY reports that Judicial Commissioner See Kee Oon was also not taken in by Chan's promise to turn over a new leaf as he had a history of repeated offences.
The incident itself took place last July at a void deck in Toa Payoh Central where he exposed himself in broad daylight to a woman, and made no attempt to put his junk back in. Interestingly enough, he apologised after she shouted and ran off before being arrested the next day.
The prosecution pushed for three months' jail for his offence, highlighting Chan's string of similar crimes against women from 1981 to 2013. The claim that he simply wanted to take an urgent piss was noted as an afterthought as it was not recorded in court documents.
