Bodies of remaining TKPS student and teacher found at Mt Kinabalu quake siteThough a glimmer of hope endured for the remaining Tanjong Katong Primary School student and teacher who were listed as missing following the Mount Kinabalu quake last Friday, it seems that they too met a heartbreakingly tragic end like the rest of their fellow climbers.  In an update this morning the Ministry of Education confirmed that the bodies of 12-year-old student Navdeep Singh Jaryal S/O Raj Kumar and Physical Education teacher Mohammad Ghazi Bin Mohamed have been identified amongst those who perished at Kota Kinabalu. "We would like to express our deep appreciation to the Royal Malaysia Police, Malaysian Armed Forces and other authorities for their support and assistance as well as the many individuals who have contributed to the search, rescue and recovery efforts of our students and teachers," they wrote in the press release.  This would mean that all eight students and two teachers of Tanjong Katong Primary School who were listed as missing after the 6.0-magnitude earthquake are all confirmed to be deceased. 21 other students and six other teachers of the school managed to escape the tragedy and have been safely returned to Singapore.  The families of Navdeep and Mohammad Ghazi have reportedly asked for privacy during the grieving period. Members of the public who wish to express their condolences to all those who perished in the quake can do so at Tanjong Katong Primary School, where a tribute corner has been set up.  Photo: Bernard DUPONT via Flickr
