Early morning bungalow blaze at Parry Avenue leaves 2 dead, 6 in hospitalTragedy struck early this morning when a blaze broke out at the residence of 6A Parry Avenue, where two fatalities and six injured people (including a firefighter) were reported.  The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived on scene when they were alerted to the fire about 3am, and were greeted by a raging fire that had engulfed the entire bungalow house, with flames bursting through the roof, Channel NewsAsia reports. Three fire engines, three ambulances, three light fire attack vehicles and six other support vehicles were sent to the location. A total of of six water jets were deployed — four were used by firefighters to enter the burning house to conduct search and rescue, while two more prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring units.  Six occupants of the house evacuated from the premises before the SCDF's arrival, while two others evacuated by the authorities. Firefighters found two bodies on the second floor of the house. The fire was brought under control within half and hour and it was completely extinguished around 4.30am. Two elderly males, two females and one child was sent to Singapore General Hospital for smoke inhalation, while a firefighter was sent to Tan Tong Seng Hospital to get treatment for heat exhaustion.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
