Drone hobbyists, rev your rotors. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has launched the one-stop online portal for those interested in operating unmanned aircrafts in Singapore to apply for permits.
The initiative follows the legislation of the Unmanned Aircraft (Public Safety and Security) Act 2015, which regulates the operations of drones in Singapore.
Drone owners should take note that an Operator Permit and/or Activity Permits will be required under the following circumstances:
Ultimately, the permits will be granted to those who are competent in flying their unmanned aircraft, and ensure that the safety of their operation here.
Additional permits will be required should the drones be discharging or dropping items, taking photos and videos of protected areas and more. Details on the various permits and restrictions available on the CAAS website.
