Beer lovers, assemble! From June 25 to 28 there will be no better place to gather your friends and throw your inhibitions to the wind than at Beerfest Asia.
Indeed, ale enthusiasts are in for an absolute treat at the seventh edition of Beerfest Asia at the Marina Promenade, with more than 400 beers on offer from Germany, the UK, the US, Singapore and beyond.
Flensburger beers from Germany at the event include Flensburger Dunkel which is a fine bitter, fresh and rich in taste, and the Flensburger Gold which is a mild beer with a sophisticated hint of hops and brewed with light caramel malt.
Singapore’s first craft cider distributor, The Mad Tapper, will make its debut at Beerfest Asia with real ciders made with juice from fresh fruits like The Revival Hard Apple, which is a semi-dry sparkling hard cider made from the best apples, grinded and cold pressed.
Not content with just being the lead singer of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson has branched out into the traditional ale field and will showcase his imaginatively titled British ale, the Iron Trooper.
For those who would like to experience a wide array of beers but find a full sized glass a bit daunting, tasting portions will be available for the first time from between S$1 - S$2.
Most people attend Beerfest Asia with the primary aim of sampling as many delicious beers as possible before crumpling into a heap, but the event will also cater to music and comedy lovers with more than 18 bands and a stand-up comedy show.
An all-girl Led Zeppelin tribute band, Lez Zeppelin from the US, will make their first appearance at the event, Welcome to the Machine is a Pink Floyd tribute band, AbbaFab are Australia’s fabulous ABBA tribute band and the Soul Sisters will cover Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas, Etta James and Janice Joplin.
Singaporean musicians will also feature prominently during the four-day event, and in a bid to try and determine which nation is the funniest, Singapore and Malaysia will fight it out on stage in a stand-up comedy battle.
Beerfest will also have the Last Laugh, a brand new comedy show featuring all the comedians of the Beerfest Comedy Club in a game show with two teams of comedians competing in a battle of wits.
If you still crave more after the beer, comedy and music, sign up for The Great Beerfest Beer Pong Tournament, which is open for teams of two to compete for trophies and cash prizes. To register, email beerpong@beerfestasia.com with your team members’ details. More information can be found on www.beerfestasia.com.
Tickets for Beerfest Asia are on sale from SISTIC (www.sistic.com.sg / (65) 6348 5555) from S$15 onwards and limited UOB exclusive 4-day passes at S$55 are available while stocks last.
