Ayam Brand has released a statement clarifying allegations posted on Facebook that thread worms were found in their canned Tuna Light Chunks In Olive Oil Light.
Ayam Brand is aware that there has been a Facebook post claiming that worms were found in Ayam Brand Tuna Chunks in Olive Oil Light. We will like to clarify this matter.
Our quality control team conducted the investigations and the findings established that the articles shown in the pictures were either loose tuna particles or light reflection of the olive oil in the product.
We have since shared our findings with Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), FairPrice, and the consumer who posted on Facebook.
We take these claims very seriously and have investigated the matter thoroughly to ensure safety and quality of all our products. Ayam Brand assures all customers that Ayam Brand Tuna Chunk in Olive Oil Light cans do not contain worms and are safe for consumption.
NTUC FairPrice also issued a statement on its Facebook Page: "FairPrice and Ayam Brand would like to assure consumers that canned tuna is safe for consumption after thorough inspection. We hope you can help spread the word around with your family and friends."
