$2k fine for man who drove with angry friend clinging onto windshield for dear lifeScared for the safety of his family, a man in deep in debt with his friend drove all the way to a police post as his friend clung on for dear life on his windscreen.  The man behind the wheel, 44-year-old credit manager Murali Krishnan Naidu, now has been fined $2,000 and banned from the road for nine months for the rash act he committed in October last year.  The court heard that 46-year-old Haresh Govindaraju and two other friends had gone to Naidu's King Albert Park condo to discuss about the money he owed them, The Straits Times reports. Naidu was driving in to the condo with his wife and teenage son when the trio ran towards the car. The man drove away from the scene to avoid a confrontation.  The three men then started becoming hostile by verbally abusing Naidu's wife and banged the vehicle. Harish even leapt onto the bonnet and held onto the sides of the windscreen, refusing to let go and continued to threaten Naidu and his wife.  Naidu then decided to drive to the nearest neighbourhood police post at Bukit Batok, with Harish uncomfortably perched on the bonnet. The police had to warn him several times to get off the car when Naidu reached the police post.  In court, Naidu pleaded guilty to committing the rash act, receiving the fine and the driving ban. So now, he is $2,000 poorer, can't drive for nine months and probably still owes his friend some money. C'est la vie.  Photo: Lianhe Zaobao
