Looks like these butterflies just hit the jackpot.
A circular enclosure for butterflies located in the middle of an HDB estate (Block 124 Tampines Street 11) is set to double in size next year when the estate gets a SGD1.5-million upgrade.
The butterfly garden, set to expand to 267sqm, will also have waterfall features and a raised observation deck for, erm, social butterflies to view them from a safe distance.
There are at least 50 butterflies of seven species in the garden — and we can almost hear the sound of their wings clapping.
It's not just these winged insects that are celebrating, though.
Upon hearing the news, some members of the Tampines Changkat Butterfly Interest group, which maintains the garden with the Tampines Changkat Town Council, thought it a good idea to let it all out and celebrate.
