For these security guards at Ikea Tampines, honesty was the only policy — they returned the bag to a (very) grateful customer who lost it while shopping.
Speaking to Stomp, the customer known as Henry noted that he didn't even realise that he lost his bag while he and his wife were shopping for furniture for their new house on Apr 27. They were trying out the beds and forgot that they left their bag on the bed before leaving.
They really should have kept a tighter leash on that bag — it contained his passport and over $20,000 in cold, hard cash.
The store's security personnel found the bag and told the reception to make an announcement for the owners of the lost bag. Henry and his wife rushed to reclaim the bag, and thanked the staff who were trustworthy enough not to just run off with the money.
