A series of scam calls that involve the swindlers pretend that they're an officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has run so rampant in Singapore that the governmental agency had to issue a fresh reminder that there is no such MFA officer by the name of "Alex Chang".
The MFA had filed a police report on Apr 22 after they discovered that a certain "Alex Chang" had been impersonating an MFA officer, calling members of the public to verify their personal particulars and requesting monetary payment to resolve issues relating to their immigration white card.
Despite the police report lodged, the scam calls have not stopped, and some folks still continue to believe in the scame. "There is no MFA officer by the name of Alex Chang," they wrote in their press release. "MFA and other government agencies do not call members of the public to request for money transfers or credit card details."
Should y'all have any information related to the case, do call the police hotline at 1800-255 0000 or submit a report online.
