People really need to be careful when boarding trains; that tiny gap in between the platform and the carriage is actually big enough to slip into, as this unfortunate woman learned yesterday morning at Jurong East MRT station.
The New Paper reports that train services were delayed at the East-West line for a couple of minutes as SMRT staff rushed to her aid to free her. The incident occurred around 9.30am on the Pasir Ris-bound train. The lady's leg was promptly freed from the gap within minutes and she was able to continue with her journey.
A similar incident happened earlier in March, when a student fell knee deep in between the train and platform at Hougang MRT station. It took a lot longer to free her though, as train services got delayed for a couple of hours.
