A 52-year-old freelance tutor is currently on trial for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old boy in the male toilet of Bishan Junction 8 two years ago.
The court had heard that Cheng Hoe Huat, a frequent visitor to the mall, spends almost every weekday there reading newspapers and the Bible, as well as write spiritual journals. He would talk and make friends with the boys he meets during his visits at the mall, The Straits Times reports.
On one occasion, he got to know a group of madrasah boys at the mall's The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf outlet, and asked them how their school taught sex education as compared to other schools. We suppose his creep levels are off the fucking charts.
He testified that he continued with his reading after they left, and made a trip to the toilet later on, denying that he asked one boy to go with him.
Completely denying the accusations of molest, Cheng claimed that he did not recognise the alleged victim or any of his four friends who were among the 13 prosecution witnesses who testified in court.
The boy had lodged a police report at Bishan Neighbourhood Police Centre the day after the alleged incident. He gave his testimony behind closed doors on Wednesday, with his father among the prosecution witnesses.
If convicted, Cheng could be jailed for up to five years and/or fined for molesting a minor.
