Tired of the boring plastic cards you use when you commute? EZ-Link has introduced EZ-Charms, customized trinkets that can be used to tap your way onto buses, trains and more.
Using the latest form of contactless technology available in your EZ-Link cards, the trinkets function in exactly the same way as the cards, and can be topped up at all EZ-link card channels. They can also be used at all EZ-Link acceptance points — on buses, trains, taxis, river taxis as well as for shopping and dining.
The first series of EZ-Charms takes the form of four different iterations of Hello Kitty designs, and can easily be hooked onto keychains. However, replacing your cards with trinkets comes at a much higher price — $24.90 each or $99.60 for the full set of Hello Kitty EZ-Charms. Also, they don't come with any stored value.
The charms will be available for sale on the EZ-Link online shop from Apr 30 onwards, while the red and pink versions will be available for purchase at all 7-Eleven outlets from the end of May onwards.
We predict pandemonium.
Those who want to purchase the black EZ-Charms will have to wait until the end June, and you will need to accumalte points to get the blue ones or something like that. More details on the EZ-Charms FAQ page.
