A con artist has been arrested for a series of online purchase scams involving cheap tickets offered at below market rate.
The 18-year-old woman had convinced victims into making advanced payments for the cheap tickets, but did not deliver them as promised and could not be contacted.
The police managed to establish her identity and arrested the woman along Joo Chiat Road on Monday. Investigations revealed that she had made use of bank accounts belonging to other individuals to receive her ill-gotten gains.
In convicted for the offence of cheating, she may be jailed for up to 10 years.
