Remember that dude who pulled off a stunt that would make the entire Fast & Furious franchise to shame? Turns out, he's a career criminal who had been imprisoned for 19 times since he was 17 years old.
59-year-old Tan Lian Seng got into the middle of the road and jumped on car, pretending to have been hit in an attempt for monetary compensation.
The Straits Times reports that he has been sentenced to jail yet again yesterday, where he'll be staying for 10 months.
Last year, he worked with an accomplice to pull off a similar con at the Marina Bay Sands carpark. The accomplice, 55-year-old Neo Choon Hock hit the rear bonnet of a moving car and when the driver got out, Tan was lying on the ground. Neo told the driver that Tan was hit by the car and asked money for compensation. The driver insisted on viewing the CCTV footage first.
For his offence, Tan could have been jailed for up to five years and fined. Neo has yet to receive his punishment.
Tan's history with crime is said to run over 10 pages with convictions for theft, robbery, causing grievous hurt, possession of offensive weapons and drug-related offences. The Institute of Mental Health has also diagnosed him with antisocial personality disorder and substance abuse.
