Singapore's prime shopping strip will play host to an exciting six-week-long fashion show yet again when the annual Fashion Steps Out @ Orchard returns to the fore this Saturday, Apr 11.
The nation's biggest fashion runway show will literally stop traffic in their tracks as an army of 176 models sashay down the closed streets of Orchard Road, donning outfits by the hottest local and international brands including Hong Kong's Moiselle, London's Ashley Isham, China's Aimer and Singapore's DEPRESSION, Pleatation and many more.
Aside from the 550m-long Orchard Fashion Runway, the glitz and glamour continues along the stores of Orchard Road, where all the clothes and accessories shown on the runway will be readily available for purchase, complete with special deals and chances to win prizes at participating walls and boutiques. Throughout the six-weeks, fashionistas can also look forward to a number of events and activities including style workshops, fashion-themed photography exhibitions and parties.
Motorists should know that two roads in the shopping belt will be closed this Saturday from 6pm to 11pm to facilitate the runway show. Orchard Road (Between Scotts Road and Bideford Road) and the carriageway of Mount Elizabeth in the direction of Orchard Road (between Nutmeg Road and Orchard Road) will be affected.
Only police and emergency vehicles will be granted access to the roads — and vehicles found parking indiscriminately and causing obstruction will be towed.
