![A Sweet End: Repairman crushed to death by 50kg sacks of sugar]()
A 44-year-old Filipino electrical and mechanical repairman died at a warehouse yesterday when he was crushed to death by sugar.
The tragic accident occurred inside a warehouse belonging to food trading company ER Marketing, located at Senoko South Road.
Speaking to The New Paper, the company's co-owner noted that she was alerted to the incident by a staff member, who heard a loud bang and saw a man's head sticking out from underneath bags of sugar.
Each sack of sugar weighs 50kg.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident close to 6pm yesterday and managed to free the victim from underneath the mounds of sugar. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are currently investigating the unnatural death.
