Singtel CEO apologises to M1 and Starhub, fires Gushcloud and employee Got a tip? Send it to us at singapore@coconuts.co. The CEO of Singtel herself has come out to personally make an apology amidst the controversy that ensued following an exposé about social media agency Gushcloud, who worked with the telco's staff and allegedly issued a brief that called for a smear campaign on their rivals.  Both M1 and Singtel have expressed strong opinions against the unethical marketing move and are exploring further options with the Infocomm Development Authority and with lawyers as well.  Though the telco have previously made an apology for the "isolated incident", Singtel Group CEO Chua Sock Koong issued a statement through a Facebook post, apologizing on behalf of the senior management and herself — specifically to M1 and Starhub.    (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by Singtel. In Singtel's effort to distance themselves away from the controversy even further, Gushcloud's services have since been terminated with the company, while the employee who colluded with the agency to conduct the campaign has been let go."The management of Singtel and the 10,000 employees who are committed to and live by our values every day are deeply disappointed by this lapse," she declared.  In any case, the only individual who could be happy about all this turmoil would be celebrity blogger Xiaxue, who orchestrated the whole exposé against Gushcloud in the first place.  Photo: AFP / Roslan Rahman
