The scenic Singapore River played host to yet another drowning early when a woman jumped into the channel along Clarke Quay early this morning.
Lianhe Wanbao reports that 40-year-old Tan Bee Eng had gone to a bar where her 22-year-old son was working before the incident took place. It was believed that she became inebriated and got into an argument with him.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the scene around 2am and retrieved her body from the river. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
