Man jailed and banned from driving after running red light and killing two pedestrians Got a tip? Send it to us at singapore@coconuts.co.  A man has been sentenced to jail for nine months and banned from driving for six years for his reckless driving that caused the deaths of two pedestrians last May. 55-year-old Ng Boon Wee pleaded guilty to causing the death of 72-year-old hawker Khoo Thuan Kheng and 18-year-old polytechnic student Tien Kang Fan. Both of them succumbed to their injuries in hospital after Ng ran a red light and rammed into them.  Ng had been driving dangerously along Sin Ming Avenue and drove through the signalised pedestrian crossing without slowing down, even though he was exposed to the sun glare.  Both pedestrians suffered multiple injuries from the accident and were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital — Khoo died the day after the collision and Tien died a few days later.  Ng could have been jailed for up to five years for causing death by dangerous driving.  Photo: Tony Webster via Flickr
