MyRepublic announces plans to be Singapore's fourth telco, pushes for unlimited mobile data Got a tip? Send it to us at singapore@coconuts.co. Internet service provider MyRepublic have made a name for providing affordable high-speed fibre broadband services to households and businesses. But very soon they could well be mentioned in the same breath as Starhub, Singtel, and M1 as they plan to become Singapore's fourth telco. "With our success in the fixed broadband market, we are now looking to leave an equally indelible impact on Singapore's mobile market," they wrote on Facebook. "We want to become Singapore's 4th telco, and we want to focus on mobile data."   (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by MyRepublic. Taking the cue from their reputation as an internet service provider, MyRepublic plans to make mobile data the top priority should they succeed in becoming a telecommunications operator, promising generous data bundles and making unlimited mobile data plans the norm — a very welcome notion in Singapore, the world's top adopter of smartphones.  Their announcement follows one made yesterday by ViewQwest — a rival internet service provider — who've made the world's fastest residential broadband speed at 2 gigabits per second available here.  Looks like both MyRepublic and ViewQwest plan to usurp the the power previously held by the three major telcos — the former will dominate the mobile data space while the latter wants to rule the broadband domain.
