2 men get jail sentence for sexually abusing drunken former secondary schoolmate

A night drinking with old friends turned into a horrible ordeal for a woman who was sexually assaulted and had compromising pictures of her taken by two former secondary schoolmates, whom she had known for nine years. The two 29-year-old men have since been sentenced to jail yesterday, The New Paper reports. One will receive seven years in jail and nine strokes of the cane for sexual assault; the other was sentenced to 19 months in jail for taking the photos.  The victim had been invited to a school reunion at a Bukit Panjang flat in 2009, believing that other school friends would attend as well. She arrived only to find the two men there. After a series of drinking games, she passed out drunk and the men took advantage of her, molesting and sexually assaulting her, as well as taking photos of her in various states of undress and compromising positions. After she sobered up, the victim called other people and made a police report.  Since the sentencing in court yesterday, one of the men is appealing his sentence while the other is considering if he will do the same.
