Singapore Art Museum's (SAM) annual contemporary art exhibition for children returns for its fifth edition in Imaginarium: A Voyage of Big Ideas this Saturday.
Featuring emerging and established artists from Singapore and around the region, the exhibition presents seven new interactive artwork commissions at SAM at 8Q specially curated with careful attention paid to how children learn and play, appealing to different senses and modes of exploration.
This year's exhibition is inspired by the crescent moon of the Singapore flag, a symbol of youth on the rise and its capacity to dream big.
Highlights of the exhibition include Takashi Kuribayashi's Trees — an installation comprising of cut-up sections of different tree trunks and terrariums sealed in glass boxes assembled together to form a hybrid tree.

Inspired by urban planning, Chiang Yu Xiang's We Built this Estate! invites everyone to create the own housing estates and city skyling with Tetris-shaped housing blocks in clearly-demarcated 'estate' areas, roads and other landmarks.
Imaginarium: A Voyage of Big Ideas will be at SAM at 8Q from Mar 14 to July 19. More details about the programmes and film screenings available at the SAM website.
