Hackers claiming to be operating under the Islamic State managed to deface the website of Curtin University Singapore, prompting the administrators to take it offline for a day.
Earlier today, Curtin Singapore confirmed that their website was attacked by hackers, Channel NewsAsia reports. The defacement involved a display of the extremist group's flag and signed off with "Hacked by Islamic State".
According to the university, the security breach has been resolved and the website was back online yesterday afternoon.
It is unclear if the Islamic State was actually involved. The police have been informed about the incident.
