The eyes of the whole nation have been fixed on national footballer Safuwan Baharuddin ever since he went on a three-month loan at Australia's Melbourne City FC, and last Saturday he brought home some glory for himself when he scored his debut goal for the club against Adelaide United FC and winning the Man of the Match award.
After 51 minutes in the losing end of things, Safuwan delivered a clinical finish, and effectively becomes the first Singaporean to score in Australia's top football league. His goal sparked off two more goals from his team, ending in a 3-1 victory for Melbourne City.
He was crowned Man of The Match later on after a fan vote, and was said to be 'unfazed' and played in multiple positions in a display of versatility.
