HDB rejects full refund request for residents cancelling Fernvale Lea flat applicationsFollowing the announcement of plans for a columbarium in the backyard of Built-To-Order flats in Fernvale, it really should come to no surprise that some future house owners are refusing to live in an area that has a breath-taking view of where the dead reside.  According to a report by Channel NewsAsia, the Housing and Development Board (HDB) noted a total of 95 requests from flat buyers to cancel their bookings with refund for the houses at Fernvale Link.  HDB also noted that they're having none of that shit.  The board has already sent letters and emails to the buyers to reject their request for a full refund. They reiterated that those who want to cancel their application before signing the Agreement for Lease will have the paid option fee forfeited, and flat owners will forfeit the 5 percent of the booked flat's purchase price if they cancel after the signing. They'll have till this Friday to let HDB know of their final decision.  Though the plans for a dazzling commercial columbarium in question has already been axed by the Ministry of National Development, it would seem that some future residents still aren't convinced.  Photo: Artist's impression of Fernvale Lea's landscape
