A serial molester in Hougang has been apprehended over his suspected involvement in two separate cases of outrage of modesty.
Both times, the 17-year-old man targeted his victims in the elevator. On the evening of Jan 29, a 15-year-old girl lodged a report to the police that she had been molested by an unidentified man in a lift at Hougang Avenue 8. Just over an hour later, they received another report involving a 12-year-old girl in a lift at Hougang Avenue 10.
Officers from the Hougang Neighbourhood Police Centre conducted ground enquiries to establish the suspect's identity. Within six hours upon receiving the first clue, they managed to nab him at Hougang Avenue 8 after midnight on Jan 30.
If convicted, he may face an imprisonment term of up to two years and caning.
