Though strict regulations stipulated by the Rapid Transit Systems Act prohibit commuters from bringing their pets along for a train ride (with a $500 fine to boot), a passenger gave no fucks, strapped his fluffy white cat to a baby carrier and got on a train two days ago.
According to Channel NewsAsia, both the cat and its owner were seen travelling on the East West Line towards Pasir Ris in the evening around 6.15pm, just before the rush hour.
Though incidents like these would have raised some eyebrows, both the passengers and the cat itself seemed unperturbed by the surreality of the scene. Gerald, a passenger travelling in the same cabin, observed that the cat was very well-mannered throughout the journey, while his fellow commuters seemed more amused than upset.
SMRT has chosen to decline commenting on the incident.
