Singapore's once again the most liveable city in Asia, according to the latest annual survey by ECA International rating expatriate living conditions.
It also ranks top city in the world to live in for Asians.
Said regional director Lee Quane, Singapore has managed to maintain its position at the top of the global ranking because of its consistently "good air quality, solid infrastructure, decent medical facilities" as well as "low crime and health risks".
Singapore's regional competitor Hong Kong has slipped from 17th to 33rd place in the global ranking, but remains in the top 10 among Asian cities.
Mr. Quane said that while Hong Kong scored well in factors such as education, healthcare and infrastructure, its poor air quality and worsened socio-political score are setbacks.
Japan conquers the top 10 in the Asian ranking with Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo and Yokohama in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively, while Adelaide, Sydney, Osaka and Brisbane follow behind Singapore in the world ranking for Asian expats.
