A jilted husband got his revenge on his wife's lover but at a heavy cost — 33-year-old Yazid Ab Rahman has been sentenced to 6 months' jail for beating up and swindling the other man.
The extramarital affair began in 2012 when Yazid's wife befriended 27-year-old Abdul Hamid Md Jana through Facebook and became lovers soon after, The New Paper reports.
Yazid found out about the affair last year and arranged to meet Abdul Hamid at the void deck of Block 231 along Jurong East Street 21. Words turned into punches as a fight broke out between them, with the cuckolded husband hitting Abdul Hamid multiple times in the face.
The situation took a turn for the worst when Yazid's wife revealed that she was pregnant, but she suffered a miscarriage later on. Court papers did not mention who the baby's father was.
In July last year, Yazid duped Abdul Hamid into handing over $2,880, claiming that his wife went through an abortion.
He was sentenced to jail for six months yesterday after pleading guilty to one count each of cheating and voluntarily causing hurt.
