SMRT confirmed on Facebook that the eastbound train travelling from Joo Koon to Dover had no choice but travel at much slower speeds due to a door fault. Though passengers at Chinese Garden were asked to detrain and board two additionally deployed trains, the damage had already been done — SMRT officially faced their first service disruption of the year, and all due to someone dropped two beads an and earring.

The train operators have very kindly offered the return of the jewellery to the owner — but we're pretty sure nobody will ever own up to it, especially after all the trouble it inflicted upon the nation's economy this morning.
