Airlines operating between Singapore and Costa Rica, or via and beyond en route to a third country, can now make the journey without restrictions on capacity, frequency or aircraft type. This is thanks to a new Open Skies Agreement (OSA) between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by Minister for Transport (MOT) Lui Tuck Yew and Costa Rica’s Minister of Public Works and Transport Dr Carlos Segnini Villalobos on Jan. 13.
In a press release issued by MOT, Lui said, “The signing of this OSA reflects the warm bilateral ties between Singapore and Costa Rica, and underscores both countries’ commitment to establish a fully liberal air services framework which allows our carriers to react quickly to market demand when opportunities arise.”
Singapore has Air Services Agreements with around 130 states and territories, of which more than 60 are OSAs.
