All Whistleblowers Welcome: One-Stop Corruption Reporting Centre to be established in central areaTo further enhance Singapore's squeaky clean image for all potential business conglomerates and investors, the Government plans to establish a One-Stop Corruption Reporting Centre in a blatant display that corruption is a total no-no in this city state.  Speaking at the Public Service Values Conference earlier this morning, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong outlined even more measures to fight corruption and dishonest practices that will be put in place soon, according to various media reports. Among the notable initiatives that will be implemented include a One-Stop Corruption Centre that will likely be set up in the central area for the public to make discreet complaints in an accessible manner. A heritage gallery will also be set up alongside to educate members of the public.  The Government is also reviewing the Prevention of Corruption Act that will serve to strengthen Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) by increasing the agency's manpower by more than 20 percent.  Coincidentally, the New Yorker recently published an article about Singapore's history with corruption, and how other countries are taking notes from the Singapore Government's impassioned crackdown on unscrupulous dealings in the public service sector.  Photo: Michael Goodine via Flickr
