Hong Kong restaurant chain Itacho Sushi has purchased a giant wild tuna for $35,000.
The tuna, which came from this year's first ceremonial auction at Tokyo's Tsukiji fish market, arrived on the morning of Jan. 6 and was presented in a traditional Japanese fish-cutting ceremony at J-Cube.
The Pacific bluefin weighed 95.4kg and is the second highest quality tuna caught this season.
A portion of the tuna was served at the ceremony and the rest will be distributed to the restaurant's outlets in Singapore.
