Danish industrial robot manufacturer Universal Robots, officially opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore on Thursday (Jan. 8).
Gracing the opening were of course, collaborative robots, one of whom cut the ribbon while another participated in the customary lion dance performance.
In an interview with Control Engineering Asia magazine, CEO Enrico Krog Iversen said the move was due to Singapore's central location in the region, as well as the availability of the right talent. "From an operational point of view, this is a very good location to be at when we need to service everybody from Japan all the way to New Zealand."
