Police have arrested a 22-year-old man for suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft committed in the Moh Guan Terrace area.
The incident happened early on Jan. 5 at about 5:15am.
A 39-year-old woman was walking at the void deck when a man snatched her handbag and fled. She gave chase, but she lost sight of him along Kim Tian Road.
Officers from the Central Police Division obtained a description of the suspect from the victim and using PolCams in the area, managed to retrieve an image that led to the suspect's arrest along Jalan Bukit Merah on Jan. 6 at 3am.
He will be charged in court today for the offence of Snatch Theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, which carries a maximum punishment of seven years jail and caning.
