Taiwan-based Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin was punched by a man at a signing event in Taipei on Thursday, Jan. 1.
Chinese media say the 33-year-old had been signing autographs for his new album Genesis at the Ximending shopping district when a man seemingly in his 30s strode across the stage and took a swing at him.
Lin reportedly only suffered a mild left ear contusion, which was treated at the National Taiwan University Hospital.
The attacker was eventually taken away by the police, but not before he wished JJ Lin a "Happy New Year!".
