Worst. Concert. Ever: Singapore Sports Hub faces backlash over shoddy venue for Jay Chou concertAlready annoyed at postponement of Jay Chou's concert here to ease the pressure on the National Stadium's hybrid grass pitch, fans had even more things to be upset about when the Taiwanese pop-star did play here last Saturday.  Fans were absolutely pissed over the conditions of the concert, with most of the complaints being directed at the substandard condition of the venue, which was hyped to be the best place for live performances.  Remonstrations ranged from leaky roofs which lead to flooded floors (and drenched audiences), to shockingly poor sound systems and engineering and even faulty cooling systems — all of which contributed to the general sentiment of "Worst. Concert. Ever." by an overwhelming majority of concertgoers. The stage and the display screens were deemed too small for folks at the back to enjoy the performance, and the immense distance between seating categories only exacerbated the disappointing experience.    (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/all.js#xfbml=1"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); Post by Jaime Chen. They've since ravaged the Singapore Sports Hub Facebook page with oodles of criticism for the National Stadium and the Singapore Sports Hub management.  Though it was noted that service staff had tried their best to accommodate and solve the issues ruining the fans' concert experience, most were still left fuming. Those affected by the rain were shifted to another area, but those sections were already filled with people or sections where the stage cannot be seen.  The negative concert experience is remarkably similar to another performance held earlier in October: Mariah Carey live in Singapore. Check out that awesome view encountered by Leonard Carey.  Singapore Sports Hub has yet to respond to the feedback on Facebook or made an official statement, which only continued to irk the unhappy fans even more. Seems like most of them have already made up their minds as well — they've called out for a boycott of any concerts held at the National Stadium.  Photo: Singapore Sports Hub Facebook page
