The voyeur who swallowed his phone’s memory card after being caught taking an upskirt video will now be gorging on prison food instead of data drives for the next three months — a district court has sentenced him to imprisonment.
The incident happened earlier in September on an SBS bus heading towards Woodlands Checkpoint, where the 25-year-old Malaysian man spotted a fellow commuter which he described as “pretty”, according to TODAY.
He took the opportunity on the crowded bus to bend down and outstretch his hand under the victim’s skirt and proceeded to record a video with his mobile phone.
After being confronted by another commuter who caught him in the act, the man battered his handphone repeatedly on the floor in a manic act of destroying any evidence. He swallowed the phone’s memory card as well.
Several other commuters helped to detain him and police officers came on duty at the checkpoint apprehended him soon after.
For destroying evidence, he could have been fined and jailed for up to two years, while his outrage of modesty could have landed him a year’s imprisonment and a fine.
The memory card was never found, all memories of the voyeuristic video now lost forever in his digestive system.
