Singapore defeated Myanmar yesterday during their Group B match in the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup.
The final 4 - 2 scoreline has placed the Republic second in the group behind Thailand, whom it lost to on Sunday.
Singapore was the dominant team in the first half — left-back Shaiful Esah's free kick got the ball rolling, followed by volleys by midfielder Hariss Harun both from inside and outside the box.
The team however conceded two goals to Myanmar in the second half, one of which was a penalty awarded to Kyaw Ko Ko.
But an own goal by Myanmar captain Khin Maung Lwin, caused by Shaiful Esah's free kick in the 76th minute, returned Singapore's comfortable lead, which it retained until full-time.
Singapore plays Malaysia next in a sold-out game on Nov. 29.
